Mike Freed is raising funds and awareness for Mile High 360 as he prepares for and completes a triathlon. Please consider sponsoring Mike’s fundraising efforts for Mile High 360’s mission to provide students with access to the resources they need to be successful, in academics and in life.
"When I was in my early 30’s, I visited Lake Placid, NY the weekend of the annual Ironman Triathlon. I was deeply moved by not only the incredible challenge that all of the athletes were taking on that day, but also by the many amazing causes many of them were representing. Six months ago, I decided to sign-up for the Coeur d’Alene Ironman on June 25th. Not only did I want to prove to myself that I could train for and finish a race that is comprised of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride, and a marathon - I also wanted to use it as a chance to make an impact in the community.
I am grateful to have been introduced to Mile High 360, a wrap-around services community in Denver providing first-generation college bound students with after-school, weekend and summer access to essential resources in three core areas: Academics, Health & Wellness, and Life skills. The program starts in 6th grade and follows these amazing students through college and beyond. The program also introduces students to the joy of cycling - with community group rides all around the Denver area.
Please join me in supporting Mile High 360 and these students while I take on the Coeur d’Alene Ironman on June 25th! My goal is to raise at least $6,500 - an amount roughly equivalent to the cost to support one student in the program for a year. At 47, I will be extremely proud to finish this race - I will be even more proud to represent Mile High 360. Thank you for your support.”
