2018 In Review
Thank You For a Fantastic Year
January 10, 2019

As 2018 ends, I find myself looking back at what Impact360 and our students accomplished in the past 12 months and looking forward to what we are preparing to accomplish in the next year. To be honest, I am not sure which is more exciting.

In 2018 Impact360 served more 90 students, saw our post-secondary students pull in more than $500,000 in scholarships, and filled every available seat during fall tryouts.

Last summer, we extended our high-school summer program to include a local Citizenship Tour - a four-day “tour” providing its high-school juniors with a chance to meet with and learn from prominent civic and business leaders. Students met and learned from leaders in government, meeting with Governor Hickenlooper and his team; health and wellness with tours of Anschutz Medical Campus and Aurora’s Disaster Management institute; journalism with visits to the Denver Post, CBS Denver, and Mile High Sports; and entrepreneurship with a trip to Boulder to visit Double Helix, Google, and BioLoop.

In 2019 Impact360 will serve 119 students in grades 6 through age 22, implement the first year of a two-year strategic plan, and have cycling students compete in their first competitive race in Detroit.

Impact360 will refine our growing post-secondary program with a new Summer Melt institute. Summer Melt is the incidence of students being accepted and enrolling in a post-secondary institution, but not attending for a variety of reasons. Summer Melt can affect one in every three students, and our goal is to keep Imapct360 students focused on the next steps in their education. A week-long “boot camp” for high school graduates preparing to start a post-secondary institution in fall 2019, students will participate in sessions focused on financial aid, course selection, health forms, the advisory system, and the use of campus resources.

Regardless of the year, the outputs and the outcomes, thank you for making Impact360 a possibility and thank you for participating in the lives of our students. There is no doubt that you are changing the world by helping to change the lives of Impact360’s students.

Sincerely,

Eric Eiteljorg
Executive Director
